Live Auto Sampler Template (os x)

The “AutoSampler” is a very handy environment template designed to automate the process of sampling hardware gear. It comes with a full instruction set to explain how it works. Go to View –> Lessons inside the Live interface to find the instructions.
If you’ve ever taken on the tedious task of multi sampling hardware synthesizers and drum machines then you will know how nice it will be to automate that entire process. After a little setup you’ll be able to hit the spacebar and sit back while Live records perfect length, automatically chopped samples of your entire synth patch. No more chopping down long recordings into individual samples, this template records one perfect length clip per note, at whatever octave range you specify. You can also select how many notes per octave you’d like to sample and at what velocity you’d like to sample them… all with just a few quick tweaks of some macro knobs.
Why spend hundreds of dollars on other software designed to do this, such as “Sample Robot”… if you own Live then this template is all you need to turn Live into an automated sampling workstation.
If you’ve been itching to use some those analog sounds from that synth you’ve got sitting there collecting dirt or can’t be bothered spending days sampling every note one by one… then you’re gonna dig this template!
This template makes use of the IACbus on mac OS X and requires a little setup outside of Live, therefor I’m unsure of the functionality in Windows. However with a little modification I’m sure it can be adapted to windows using MidiYoke or equivalent.
UPDATED!
This template has been recently update for use in Live 8 and has been greatly simplified in the process. I have not tested this template in older versions of Live since doing the update, so compatibility with versions older than Live 8 are uncertain and unsupported.
