Analog Waveform Sampling Project by 3OT and opuswerk
Monday, 8 September 2008

This project was reborn as Hendrik of opuswerk and 3OT met on the Internet, both looking for single waveforms that they could load into Ableton’s simpler as oscillators… 2 years after one another. The project was dug from the depths of the Ableton forum and brought to life in an effort to make usable tools available to ourselves and to other like minded musicians.
WHAT IS WAVEFORMS?
The pack contains several waveforms all sampled from analog synthesizers (there are a few exceptions like the Elektron SFX-6). All waveforms have been edited, looped and appropriately mapped, then made available in Ableton Live’s Simpler format as this is what we use, but these could easily be converted to Sampler format as well. We’ve also included a folder with just the samples for those of you not using Ableton. In this case you’ll have to load them in your favorite sampler and make the necessary adjustments and loops yourself.
The instruments we’ve created using these waveforms aren’t aiming to be a recreation of analog synth nor an specific emulation of any kind. They are simply tools for the creative musician. You won’t find any “presets” in the pack. Just great raw waveforms who are begging to be mangled and manipulated in countless ways.

Many many hours were spent collecting and recording all of those sounds. Hence we’d like to thank all the people who have painstakingly sampled their analog beasts and generously made them available to us.
In no particular order :
The Assembly Worker
SMTL
Baal-Zebub
Poster (ableton forum)
The people behind those forums should be thanked as well for offering us a platform to communicate about music and getting like minded people together :

As always this project is in the open source spirit of DefEQ and we hope to hear the music you make using those waveforms. If you have something you’d like to contribute to the project (samples) please let us know.
Enjoy!

Let me be the first to say thank you for this great sample pack and show my appreciation for the work put into this site.
Will definitely check back here more often.
Also, I want to say thank for the humble and informative answer I got to my e-mail. You seem like nice fellas (even though I only been in contact with one of you. He he).
All the best
